# fDeploy

> fDeploy is a self-hosted, affordable deployment platform for Windows. It targets teams that ship .NET applications to IIS and Windows servers and want a purpose-built tool without a monthly cloud bill or enterprise pricing.

fDeploy is built and maintained by SVEA IKT AB, a one-founder company in Stockholm, Sweden. Development started in March 2019 and version 1.0 became generally available in April 2026. The product is the same tool used to ship fdeploy.com and docs.fdeploy.com.

## Components

- **fDeploy Server** — a self-contained Windows service exposing OpenAPI v3 REST endpoints and a built-in web dashboard. Manages projects, environments, deployment targets, processes, releases, and a built-in NuGet package repository. One server instance supports up to 100 projects and 100 deployment targets.
- **fDeploy Agent** — a Windows service running on each deployment target. Receives packages over an authenticated, encrypted channel; performs variable substitution, IIS configuration, and PowerShell script execution.

## Key capabilities

- Self-hosted and on-premise. No telemetry, no SaaS fallback, no cloud account required.
- Built-in NuGet repository — no separate feed server needed.
- OpenAPI v3 REST API — integrates with any CI/CD pipeline.
- Progressions: ordered deployment phases (Development → QC → UAT → Production).
- Reproducible releases: every release captures a frozen snapshot of project variables and the deployment process at creation time.
- Configuration transforms via standard .NET XDT, layered with fDeploy variable substitution.
- Certificate management for IIS SSL/TLS bindings.
- Team-based access control with roles scoped to projects or environments. Active Directory group sync supported.
- A target can belong to multiple environments (1:N).
- Rollback is user-driven — there is no automatic rollback on failure; users redeploy a prior release.

## Pricing (USD, 2026)

- **Community** — Free. Up to 10 projects, 10 deployment targets, unlimited users, community support, single server instance. Work email required.
- **Professional** — $34 per project per year + $50 per deployment target per year. Up to 100 projects per instance, unlimited users, 8/5 weekday support (9–5).
- **Academic / non-profit** — 30% discount on all pricing: $24 per project per year + $35 per deployment target per year. Same limits as Professional, async email support.

There are no per-seat fees. fDeploy intentionally does not offer 24/7 support or clustered high-availability — the product stays simple and affordable for teams that do not need enterprise SLAs. Multi-tenant deployments are not supported.
